This policy explains how Diocletian Ltd(“Very Minted”, “we”), the data controller, handles personal data for vminted.com and the Very Minted app. We’re registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16419314), 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.
What we collect
- Account — your name, email and sign-in details when you create an account or reserve a founding seat.
- Your reselling data — the items, purchases, sales, photos, sourcing locations and notes you add to the app.
- Payment — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card details.
- Usage — privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics about how the site and app are used (see our Cookie policy).
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the service (performance of a contract) — running your account, listings, valuations and bookkeeping.
- To take payment and prevent fraud (contract / legitimate interests).
- To improve the product (legitimate interests) — understanding what’s used and fixing what isn’t.
- To meet legal obligations — including tax and marketplace-reporting rules such as HMRC’s DAC7 digital-platform reporting.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of trusted processors to run the service: Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting & analytics), Neon (database), Clerk (authentication) and Anthropic (the AI that drafts listings). Each processes data only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account, and after closure only as long as needed for legal, accounting and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@vminted.com. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
Deleting your data
You can delete your Very Minted account and its personal data at any time. Email hello@vminted.com from the address on your account (or, if you signed in with Google or Facebook, the email linked to that login) and ask us to delete your account. We’ll remove your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except the minimum we’re legally required to retain for accounting and tax purposes. If you signed in via a social login, this also removes the profile information we received from that provider.
International transfers & changes
Some of our processors are outside the UK; where they are, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards. We may update this policy as the product grows — the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
