Sell with Very Minted · questions answered
Is one designer piece worth selling on its own?
Usually, yes: a piece likely to sell for more than £40 is sold for you and you keep 50% to 70% of the sale price, which is far more than its weight earns in a wardrobe sold at £1 a kilo. Photograph it and Mint gives a cautious estimate of the likely sale price before you post anything, and one of us checks every offer.
What happens to one piece
| Likely to sell for £15 to £40 | We buy it for half of the estimate, up to £20, paid within 5 working days of it arriving as described |
|---|---|
| Likely to sell for more than £40 | We sell it for you. You keep 50% of a sale under £250, 60% from £250 to £999.99, and 70% at £1,000 or more |
| Likely to sell for under £15 | Not worth the postage. We say so before you post anything |
| Where | Anywhere in the UK. You post it to us, tracked, at your own cost |
| How long an offer stands | 14 days from the email that confirms it |
| How long a piece stays on sale | Up to 12 months, and it stays yours until it sells |
Worth knowing
- The estimate is cautious on purpose, and it is an estimate until one of us has checked it, and again until we have seen the piece itself.
- If the piece is not as described we send a revised offer, or return it at your cost.
- A luxury piece may need a receipt, a serial number or authentication before it is listed. We talk to you before any cost is incurred.
- Nothing is agreed until you accept, and you are not committed to anything by asking.
